If an animal cell were a bank?

I have figured out what all the other parts of cell relate too.
Just not the Rough and Smooth endoplasmic reticulum

The endoplasmic reticulum, hmm? Something I haven’t thought about for quite a while, so I referenced my college biology text. Here’s what it says:

The ER is a series of interconnected tubes and channels in the cytoplasm.

The Rough ER is studded with ribosomes, which are responsible for the synthesis of PROTEINS. “These ribosomes of the Rough ER also manufacture the proteins that secretory cells export, including digestive enzymes and protein hormones, which are simultaneously transported into the channels inside the ER. The proteins collect into vesicles at the end of the ER, which bud off and migrate to the Golgi complex.”

The Smooth ER (which lacks ribosomes) synthesizes LIPIDS (water-insoluble oils, fats, and steroids). Some specialized cells’ Smooth ERs are also capable of synthesizing the steroid hormones testosterone and estrogen, produced by the gonads of mammals.
