Can my guppies eat regular tropical fish food?
I keep my guppies in a tropical tank with danios and tetras. I feed them TetraMin Tropical Fish Flakes. Will the guppies be ok? If not, then how do I go about feeding them without the others hogging their food? They already eat what I give them but is it good for them?
Yes, your guppies will be okay eating TetraMin flakes. In fact, it is a very good staple food for them. Just crush the flakes into tiny bits and spread them out on the surface of your tank so all your fish can get their share. Supplement this with an occasional feeding of live foods.
TetraMin is Tetra brand’s staple food (basic diet for all tropical fish) and is not made specifically for feeding to tetras or characins only. The name is compounded from two words, “tetra” is the Greek word for “four”. It stands for TetraMin’s original recipe of four types of flakes. “Min” comes from vitamin which in Latin means “a substance necessary for life.”
